Beach Front Bungalows and Dorm beds

Three words that describe our beach bungalows – LESS IS MORE!

A short stroll down the beautiful beach will have you coming across your own little villa in paradise. Everything you need is a stones throw away from the lapping waves and golden sands.

We have 2 types of spacious bungalows which are equipped with one or two double beds and can sleep 2 to 4 people (rooms with 2 double beds or just the one). Each bungalow has a mosquito net, light, secure doors and a padlock supplied if you need one. You really do feel at one with your surroundings as you fall asleep to the sound of the waves lapping at the beach just outside your door.

Each morning you’ll open your front door to amazing views. If this isn’t enough there is also your very own hammock on each balcony… You have to see it to appreciate it.

Fear not if you are a single traveller who likes to mingle, we have two fantastic dormitories all with separate lockers and mosquito nets. All the bungalows and dormitories are serviced by our communal shower and toilet cubicles.

Bar & Restaurant

Drink in the views of paradise from our Beach Bar

Relax and recharge your sun-kissed body in our chilled out cushion clad beach bar and restaurant. Enjoy the stunning panoramic views and breathtaking sunsets while you sip on a refreshing cocktail.

Mingle with the local Koh Ru family, play traditional bar games (drinking and non drinking) and fill your belly with the amazing mixture of Western and Khmer food. Popular dishes include the tasty Khmer Curry, succulent Barracuda served with choice of mashed potato, rice or chips and an array of freshly prepared salads to name just a few.

An average meal on Koh Ru costs around $3 – $5. All our food is prepared to a high standard using bottled drinking water NOT well water (there’s no mains obviously).

There are daily specials available, Vegetarian options and beach BBQ‘s on a regular basis using the “Catch of the Day”.

Drink and food prices are similar to the mainland and you can expect to pay the same as if you were at Monkey Republic in Sihanoukville.

Keep your eye out for Rambo, our resident goat. Give him a stroke, he’s surprisingly friendly. Let the fun-loving Khmer and western staff serve you with everything you could possibly need whilst enjoying your time in paradise. If you ever leave, it will be with a smile on your face, very happy memories and lots of new friends.

Koh Ru is an Island resort only one hour from the coastal town of Sihanoukville, Cambodia. Located in the Gulf of Thailand we exclusively occupy the South side of the beautiful island of Koh Russei. Our 800 meter private beach offers stunning Sunsets over the sea amongst palm trees and turquoise waters.

A perfect escape from the beach sellers and jet ski’s of the mainland, you can enjoy snorkelling through the coral, sunbathing on our squeaky sand beach and delicious food before retiring to your private bungalow right on the beach.

Our accommodation is limited to 17 beach bungalows and 32 dorm style beds to maintain a very exclusive and peaceful atmosphere to the resort.

There is little more to say than paradise.

Beautiful squeaky golden yellow sand that stretches for 800 metres. It feels like you are on your very own private beach. The beach is cleaned daily to ensure comfort and cleanliness for all who use it. Take a dip in the beautiful blue water that laps at your feet as you take in the amazing view.
